Alaska pollock is a pelagic fish common in northern Pacific waters, known for its important ecological role and as a popular game fish. It has a streamlined body suited for fast swimming and mainly feeds on small crustaceans and fish. This species can grow up to nearly a meter in length and is a key prey for many marine predators.
Where they live
Found in brackish and saltwater environments of the northern Pacific Ocean and adjacent North American coasts, Alaska pollock inhabits depths down to around 1280 meters and prefers pelagic zones.
