Terms of Service
Effective date: July 3, 2026
Overview
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Bobbr iOS app and the bobbr.app website (together, the "Service"), operated by Jack Lynch ("Bobbr," "we," "us," or "our").
By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Bobbr. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
Your Account
You create a Bobbr account using Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Apple ID and for all activity under your account. Contact support@bobbr.app if you believe your account has been compromised.
Subscriptions and Payment
Most of Bobbr, including fish identification and catch logging, requires an active paid subscription. Bobbr offers the following plans, sold and billed entirely through Apple's App Store:
- Weekly, monthly, and yearly plans, which automatically renew for the same term until you cancel.
- A lifetime plan, billed once with no renewal.
Auto-renewing plans renew automatically at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can view, manage, or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID account's subscription settings — Bobbr cannot cancel or issue a refund for a purchase on your behalf. Payment is processed entirely by Apple, and refunds are handled under Apple's own refund policies. We may change subscription pricing or plans going forward; changes will not affect a period you have already paid for.
AI Fish Identification — Please Read
Bobbr's camera-based fish identification uses artificial intelligence to suggest a likely species from your photo. It is a suggestion to help you log your catch faster — never a certified or guaranteed identification.
Identifications can be wrong. Do not rely on Bobbr to decide whether a fish is safe to eat, safe to handle, or legal to keep, harvest, or release. Always independently verify a fish's species, using a trusted field guide, a knowledgeable person, or your local wildlife agency, before eating, handling, or keeping any fish. When in doubt, do not keep it.
Fishing Regulations Are Your Responsibility
You are solely responsible for knowing and following all fishing laws, licensing requirements, catch and size limits, and protected-species rules that apply to you, wherever you fish. Bobbr does not provide legal or regulatory advice, and using Bobbr is not a substitute for checking the rules that apply in your location.
Your Content
You keep ownership of the photos, notes, and other content you add to Bobbr ("Your Content"). By submitting Your Content, you grant Bobbr a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and process Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service for you — for example, running fish identification and displaying your catches back to you.
You are responsible for Your Content. Do not submit anything you do not have the rights to share, or that is illegal, infringing, or violates someone else's privacy.
Our Intellectual Property
The Bobbr app, the Bobbr name and logo, the fish catalog, and all other Service content other than Your Content belong to Bobbr or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any of it without our permission.
Acceptable Use
When using Bobbr, you agree not to:
- Use the Service for anything illegal, or in a way that violates others' rights;
- Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service;
- Circumvent Bobbr's subscription or entitlement checks; or
- Use automated tools to scrape or abuse the Service.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided 'as is' and 'as available,' without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that fish identifications will be accurate, that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will meet your expectations.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bobbr and Jack Lynch will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the Service, including any decision made in reliance on a fish identification or on other information in the app.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid Bobbr in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $100, whichever is greater.
Termination
You may stop using Bobbr and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination, including ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability, will continue to apply.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
