The Atlantic halibut is a large, powerful flatfish known for its impressive size and strength. It lives mostly on the sea bottom but can occasionally be found swimming in open water. This species is a top predator that feeds on various fish and bottom-dwelling animals.

Found in the North Atlantic Ocean along the coasts of North America, Atlantic halibut inhabit depths from 50 to 2000 meters, mostly on the sea floor.
