The Atlantic wolffish is a solitary, bottom-dwelling predator known for its elongated body and strong jaws. It inhabits rocky and sandy seafloors in cold Atlantic and Mediterranean waters. This species feeds mainly on hard-shelled animals and other fishes.

Where they live

Found along rocky bottoms from shallow waters down to 500 meters in the North Atlantic and Mediterranean regions. Prefers benthic habitats with sand or mud substrates.
