How to catch Bermuda sea chub
Kyphosus sectatrix
The Bermuda sea chub is a medium-sized, fusiform fish found in warm saltwater regions worldwide. It mainly grazes on benthic algae but also consumes small crabs and mollusks. This species inhabits shallow waters around coral reefs, sandy or rocky bottoms, and seagrass beds.
Where they live
Found in shallow waters from 1 to 30 meters deep, the Bermuda sea chub frequents coral reefs, rocky and sandy bottoms, and seagrass beds in Atlantic, Pacific, and Mediterranean regions. Juveniles often stay among floating seaweed mats.
