The Bigeye cichlid is a solitary freshwater fish found in sunny, slow-moving creeks with muddy bottoms and amber water. It is a predatory species that feeds on shrimps, insect larvae, and smaller fish. This species grows up to about 16 cm in length and is known for its large eyes relative to its body size.
