The blue-and-yellow grouper is a predatory reef fish known for its vibrant coloration and robust build. Juveniles inhabit shallow reefs, while adults prefer deeper reef environments. It feeds on a variety of marine animals including fishes and crustaceans.

Where they live

Found in Atlantic and Indian Ocean saltwater reefs, juveniles stay in shallow areas (around 10 meters), adults inhabit reefs down to 150 meters.
