The Bowmouth guitarfish is a rare and distinctive marine species known for its elongated body and guitar-like shape. It lives mainly near reefs and wrecks, often resting on sandy or muddy bottoms. This predator primarily feeds on bottom-dwelling crustaceans and mollusks.
Where they live
Inhabits shallow to moderately deep saltwater areas near reefs and wrecks in the Pacific and Indian Oceans. Prefers sand and mud bottoms but can occasionally be found in the water column.
