The Brill is a flatfish prized by anglers for its firm, tasty flesh. It has a short, deep body and can grow up to 75 cm long and 8 kg in weight. It is a predator that hunts smaller fish and crustaceans on the sea bottom.

Where they live

Found in saltwater environments of the Atlantic and Mediterranean, Brill occupy depths from 5 to 50 meters. They favor sandy or muddy seabeds where they can blend in while hunting.
