Damselfish are small, active saltwater fish known for forming small shoals near rocky reefs or seagrass meadows. They feed primarily on small planktonic and benthic animals. Their lively behavior and moderate size make them an interesting target for casual anglers.

Where they live

Found in saltwater regions including the Atlantic and Mediterranean, damselfish inhabit shallow to moderately deep waters from 2 to 40 meters, often near rocky reefs or Posidonia seagrass beds.
