The Doctorfish is a medium-sized saltwater surgeonfish known for its short, deep body and distinctive grazing behavior. It forms loose groups and is active mainly during the day. This species feeds primarily on algae and organic material found on reefs.

Where they live

Found in shallow reefs and rocky areas of the Atlantic, Indian Ocean, Caribbean, and Gulf of Mexico, typically between 2 and 25 meters deep. It forms loose schools and grazes on algae during daylight hours.
