The dusky smooth-hound is a slender shark found mainly along continental shelves and slopes. It preys heavily on large crustaceans like crabs and lobsters. This species can inhabit shallow coastal waters and occasionally ventures deeper or into low-salinity environments.
Where they live
Inhabits shallow inshore to upper slope waters up to 200 meters deep in the Atlantic, Caribbean, and Gulf of Mexico. Often found on continental shelves and sometimes in brackish zones.
