The five-lined snapper is a colorful coral reef fish often found in large schools. It has striking blue bands and grows up to around 38 cm in length. Juveniles prefer shallow protected bays, while adults form small groups at moderate depths.
Where they live
Found in the Pacific and Indian Oceans, this species inhabits sheltered lagoons and outer coral reef slopes from 2 to 40 meters deep. Large schools may form in some areas.
