The flying gurnard is a bottom-dwelling fish known for its large, wing-like pectoral fins. It uses these fins to explore sandy and rocky areas while hunting. This species primarily feeds on small crustaceans and fish along the ocean floor.

Where they live

Inhabits sandy, muddy, or rocky bottoms in shallow to moderately deep brackish and saltwater environments of the Atlantic and Mediterranean regions. Often found from 1 to 100 meters deep.
