The golden trevally is a striking saltwater game fish known for its golden color and banded body. It inhabits coral and rocky reefs, where it hunts small fishes and crustaceans by rooting in the sand. Juveniles uniquely shelter among jellyfish tentacles for protection.

Where they live

Found in inshore waters of the continental shelf across the Pacific and Indian Oceans, including coral reefs and deep lagoons up to 80 meters deep. Prefers coastal coral and rocky reef environments.
