Günther's lanternfish is a small, elongated deep-sea fish known for its bioluminescent properties. It typically inhabits open ocean waters, migrating vertically from deep during the day to shallower zones at night. This species feeds selectively on planktonic copepods.
Where they live
Inhabits high-oceanic saltwater regions in the Atlantic and Caribbean. Found between 425 and 750 meters deep by day, rising to 40-125 meters at night, often abundant in the upper 50 meters.
