King George whiting is a prized game fish known for its elongated body and tasty flesh. Juveniles inhabit sheltered inshore waters, while adults move to deeper waters, especially in winter. It is a predator that hunts small macrofauna such as peanut worms.
Where they live
Found in brackish and saltwater from shallow 2 meters to depths of 200 meters, primarily around the Pacific and Indian Ocean regions. Juveniles stay in protected inshore areas, while adults migrate to deeper offshore waters.
