Ling is a large, elongated saltwater fish known for its solitary behavior and preference for rocky inshore habitats during its immature stage. It primarily preys on a variety of fish species and some crustaceans, making it a skilled predator. Ling is sought after by anglers due to its impressive size and strength.
Where they live
Found in the North Atlantic and Mediterranean, ling inhabits rocky areas from shallow 15-20 m depths to deep waters up to 1000 m. It stays mostly solitary and does not migrate long distances.
