Longfin batfish are striking saltwater fish known for their rounded, deep bodies and long fins. They often form schools around shipwrecks and floating seaweed mats. These bats are predators that hunt a variety of small fish and benthic invertebrates.
Where they live
Found in sheltered bays and offshore waters up to 25 meters deep across the Atlantic, Pacific, Indian Ocean, and Mediterranean. Common near shipwrecks and large Sargassum rafts.
