The Mediterranean rainbow wrasse is a colorful saltwater fish known for its vibrant patterns and active behavior. It can bury itself in sand for protection and sometimes acts as a cleaner fish. Males are found deeper, especially during winter months.
Where they live
Found in shallow to moderately deep Mediterranean waters, ranging from shorelines down to about 120 meters. More common deeper during winter, with older males inhabiting greater depths.
