The North African catfish is a large, elongated freshwater fish known for its bottom-feeding habits but occasionally feeds at the surface. It is omnivorous, mainly preying on other fish, plants, and zooplankton. This species is popular among anglers for its size and fighting ability.

Where they live

Common in sandy streams, standing deep waters, and shallow swamps across Africa, parts of Asia, South America, and Europe. It inhabits depths from surface level to about 80 meters.
