The Pacific beakfish is a solitary fish known for its strong beak-like teeth used to feed on algae and invertebrates. It has a short and deep body shape and is commonly found in rocky reef habitats. Though not a popular game fish, it plays an important role in its ecosystem by grazing on algae.

Where they live

Found in shallow to moderate depths (3–30 meters) over rocky reefs and boulder slopes in the Pacific saltwater regions. Typically swims near rocky bottoms and walls.
