The Pacific dog snapper is a large, powerful fish found in rocky and coral reef coastal waters. It is known for its strong predatory behavior, feeding mainly on crabs, prawns, shrimp, and smaller fish. Juveniles often inhabit estuaries and mangrove areas before moving to deeper reefs as adults.
