The Red Sea goatfish is a small, group-forming fish known for its fusiform body and feeding habits. It hunts small benthic invertebrates such as crustaceans and polychaetes. This species is commonly found on soft substrates amid coral and rocky areas.

Where they live

Found in brackish and saltwater environments including the Indian Ocean, Pacific, and Mediterranean. Prefers shallow to moderate depths from 1 to 45 meters, often near corals and rocks in soft substrates.
