The round stingray is a coastal species known for its round shape and habit of partially burying itself in sand or mud. It hunts bottom-dwelling fishes and crustaceans along sandy and rocky sea floors. This species can grow quite large, reaching lengths up to 2.5 meters.
Where they live
Found in shallow to moderately deep coastal waters, typically from 10 to 300 meters depth, over sand and rock-sand bottoms in the Atlantic, Indian Ocean, and Mediterranean regions.
