The shorthead lizardfish is a slender, elongated predator found in Pacific saltwater habitats. It hunts smaller marine animals and can grow up to half a meter long. This species is not sought after as a game fish but is an interesting part of coastal marine ecosystems.
Where they live
Inhabits shallow to moderately deep coastal waters of the Pacific Ocean, typically from 2 to 30 meters depth. Prefers saltwater environments with plenty of benthic cover.
