Silver seabream are strong, predatory fish often found around reefs and seagrass beds. Juveniles prefer shallower rocky areas, while adults move to deeper inshore reefs. They are prized game fish known for their fighting ability and distinctive short, deep body shape.

Where they live

Inhabits continental shelf waters from shallow reefs and seagrass beds to depths of 200 meters in the Pacific and Indian Oceans. Juveniles favor rocky and reef habitats; adults aggregate on nearshore reefs.
