The sixfinger threadfin is a tropical coastal fish known for its distinctive elongated fin rays resembling fingers. It inhabits a variety of water types, from freshwater to saltwater, and is valued as a game fish. This species is active both day and night, feeding on small crustaceans, worms, and fish.
Where they live
Found along sandy and rocky shorelines, sandy lagoon bottoms, river mouths, and brackish mangrove estuaries in the Pacific and Indian Oceans, at depths from 1 to 50 meters.
