The slime flounder is a saltwater flatfish known for its short, deep body shape. It lives on sandy and muddy sea bottoms where it hunts small benthic invertebrates. This species can grow up to 60 cm in length and weigh around 1.7 kg.

Found in the Pacific Ocean on sandy and muddy bottoms from shallow waters around 15 meters to depths up to 800 meters.
