The smooth hammerhead is a large shark recognizable by its distinctive elongated head shape. It is a powerful predator and game fish found in warm and temperate waters. Known for hunting a variety of prey, this species can grow very large, making it a challenge for anglers.

Where they live

Found in brackish and saltwater regions including the Atlantic and Mediterranean, inhabiting depths from surface waters down to around 200 meters.
