The Snakehead gudgeon is an elongated freshwater fish found in diverse habitats such as rivers, swamps, and coastal streams. It mainly feeds on aquatic insects, small crustaceans, and some plant matter. While its larvae have a pelagic marine stage, adults live exclusively in freshwater.
