The spotted wolffish is a large, elongated saltwater fish known for its distinctive spotted pattern. It is a benthic predator commonly found at depths from 25 to 590 meters. It feeds mainly on hard-shelled sea creatures and other fish species.

Found in offshore North Atlantic waters over soft bottoms with boulders, typically between 100 and 400 meters deep.
