How to catch Starry ray
Amblyraja radiata
The starry ray is a cold-water skate found mainly in boreal to Arctic Atlantic regions. It inhabits offshore hard and soft bottoms from shallow coastal areas to depths exceeding 1,500 meters. This species is relatively sedentary and shows seasonal juvenile aggregations in specific northern Atlantic locations.
Where they live
Found in brackish and saltwater off North America's Atlantic coast, starry rays live on clay and mud bottoms from 5 to over 1,500 meters deep. They thrive in cold waters ranging from -1.4 to 14°C and are typically offshore and bottom-associated.
