The striped bonito is a fast and agile predator found in warm coastal waters. It can grow over a meter long and is prized by anglers for its fighting ability. This species preys on small fish, squids, and crustaceans near shore.
Where they live
Inhabits coastal waters with temperatures from 14 to 25°C across the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans. Commonly found from shallow waters down to about 167 meters deep near land masses.
