The vermilion rockfish is a striking red-orange fish commonly found in the Pacific Ocean. It is prized by anglers for its fight and size, reaching up to 91 cm in length. This species has a fusiform body shape typical of rockfish and inhabits deep waters down to nearly 470 meters.
Where they live
Found in saltwater along the North American Pacific coast, vermilion rockfish inhabit depths from 15 to 467 meters. They prefer rocky reefs and structures on the seafloor where they seek shelter.
