The Whiting is a slender, fast-swimming fish common in European waters. It is a popular game fish known for its tasty flesh. Juveniles stay nearshore while adults inhabit a range from shallow to deep waters.
Where they live
Whiting inhabit brackish and saltwater regions of the Atlantic and Mediterranean, living near the seabed and often near the surface from 10 to 200 meters deep. Young fish prefer areas closer to shore.
